PCC Community Markets
Founded in Seattle in 1953, PCC Community Markets (PCC) is a certified organic retailer and the nation's largest community-owned food market. PCC's Cooking Class program, started in 1983, has grown significantly to offer over 1,600 courses annually across eight locations. Initially driven by a curiosity for nutrition, it now encompasses a variety of culinary experiences. The program, regarded as a community rather than just a class series, attracts over 6,000 students each year. It features expert instructors, including long-term veterans and passionate newcomers, who impart knowledge on everything from traditional food crafts and nutritious eating to international recipes and advanced culinary techniques. The classes, ranging from health-focused to technique-driven, cater to all skill levels, and the program's spirit is encapsulated in its hands-on, interactive approach, fostering a close-knit learning environment that emphasizes the joy and community aspects of cooking.
