Hot Stove Society, a year-round cooking school operated by Tom Douglas Restaurants, is located in a bright industrial space within the stylish Hotel Andra. The school offers a diverse curriculum designed to cater to a range of interests and skill levels, where the classes are designed to be both educational and entertaining. Tom Douglas, a self-taught chef and restaurateur, brings his extensive experience and unique "taste memory" education approach to the school. The school is equipped with a large, curved prep area for lectures, hands-on worktables, and a range of kitchen equipment, accommodating up to 32 participants for hands-on classes and over 60 for lectures. Additionally, the Hot Stove Society is closely connected to the local food community, drawing instructors from the chef staff of Tom Douglas Restaurants and other industry experts. The school aims to provide an insider's look at the restaurant community, offering students an opportunity to engage directly with food preparation and culinary techniques.
